Kathmandu. Nepal’s tourism industry is attempting to resume normal operations following a short disruption during the recent Gen-Z movement. The temporary Gen-Z unrest prompted cancellations from international travelers, dealing a setback to the sector during the peak festival season.
Tourism workers, many of whom depend on seasonal income, faced economic uncertainty as bookings slowed. However, with calm restored, guides and industry representatives are assuring visitors that Nepal remains a safe and welcoming destination.
'Nepal is safe, we are ready to welcome you,' local guides said in a coordinated campaign launched this week.
Tourism contributes significantly to Nepal’s economy, particularly in cultural cities, National Parks, and Himalayan trekking regions. Stakeholders now hope confidence will return swiftly as the festival season unfolds.
